EUMaster4HPC General Assembly 2025 at Sorbonne Université, Paris

On 16–17 October 2025, the EUMaster4HPC consortium gathered at Sorbonne Université in Paris for its annual General Assembly. The event brought together representatives from partner institutions and organisations across Europe — including work package leaders — to review the project’s progress, share key achievements, and plan the next steps for the project.

Reflecting on progress and future goals

Opening the meeting, Prof. Régis Marchiano, Director of the Faculty of Engineering at Sorbonne Université, welcomed participants and highlighted the growing interdisciplinary opportunities between High Performance Computing (HPC) and related domains such as artificial intelligence, data science, and computational engineering. Prof. Pascal Bouvry, project coordinator, reflected on the evolution of the EUMaster4HPC programme, the key milestones across cohorts of students, and the strong collaborations established between academia and industry.

Throughout the two-day meeting, work package leaders presented updates on project management, curriculum development, teaching materials, communication activities, student mobility, and the roadmap for HPC education in Europe.

Strengthening collaboration and impact

Beyond the formal presentations, the General Assembly provided valuable opportunities for discussion, exchange, and networking among partners. The event highlighted the importance of continued collaboration to enhance the programme’s academic offer, strengthen partners’ active participation, and ensure lasting impact across the European HPC education landscape.

A shared mission for Europe’s HPC future

As Europe continues to invest in advanced digital skills and computing infrastructure, EUMaster4HPC plays a central role in educating the next generation of experts who will shape the continent’s digital future.

All partners remain united by a shared mission: to build a strong, connected community of HPC talent across Europe — bridging academia, research, supercomputing centres, and industry to advance excellence in high-performance computing education.

A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Stéphane Labbé, Amandine Marcille, and the entire team at Sorbonne Université for their warm welcome and organisation, and to all consortium members for their continued commitment and contributions.
